The Mk lll Velocette LE was introduced in 1958. Like its predecessors, whilst in no way fast, being water cooled it was very quiet. It was very popular with many police forces until the panda car system took over in the late 1960s. Production ceased in 1971 but certainly one police force continued using the bikes until 1974. This example dates from 1963 and is typical of the machines used. Grey was a popular colour.
